In May 2017, students from the Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics and the Gregorio Luperon for Science and Mathematics High School visited the Lamont Campus for “A Taste of Field-Based Research.” Dr. Michael J Passow coordinated this year’s program, with cooperating support from the Lamont-Doherty Core Repository and the Tree Ring Lab.
This page is designed to share some of the resources created for this experience and is a work-in-progress. More will be added as resources are developed. After the week’s activities, images will be posted.

Comments:
From Mr. Rafael Vargas (GLSMHS):
Thank you for all the work you put into organizing this trip for our students. They enjoyed the canoeing and learning about science. I think it was a great learning experience for the girls. Hopefully, we can make this trip a tradition for our students. Thank you Principal Mrs. Delarosa for giving our students the opportunity to experience canoeing and camping while learning field research in science.
From Ms. Rose Oelkers (LDEO TRL):
Glad to hear the kids enjoyed themselves. Happy to be of assistance.
