“New News about Impact Craters” with Dallas Abbott (Apr 2007)

by | Jul 25, 2023 | Impact Craters

Originally presented 21 Apr 2007

Dallas Abbott continues to investigate meteorite and other impact craters that have been discovered in many locations, and has been searching especially for evidence of such features in our local region.

The “Science Times” (New York Times Tuesday featured section) carried an article about Dallas’s work on 14 Nov 2006. Click for “Ancient Crash, Epic Wave.” (Note: Scroll down if you don’t see anything at first.)

Cutting-Edge Research

Dallas Abbott’s investigations about bolloid impacts in the oceans  have received considerable attention in the past few years. Dallas has described her discoveries in Earth2Class Workshops over the past few years, so it was with special interest that we opened the NY Times’ Science Times on 14 Nov 2006 to read a feature story about her work.

In addition to her activities as Adjunct Research Scientist, Dallas oversees the LDEO Summer Inter Program for Undergraduates. Here is the link to Dallas’s LDEO website.
